Ingredients:
- 4 Salmon fillets (4 oz each)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
Blackened Spices:
- 1 tablespoon dried thyme
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt to taste
Directions:
Step 1: Combine thyme, garlic powder, oregano, black pepper, cayenne pepper and salt in a small bowl.
Step 2: Brush each side of salmon with 1/2 tablespoon oil. Evenly distribute seasoning onto both sides of the salmon. Add the remaining oil into a large skillet, heat to medium-high heat and the add salmon (skin side down). Reduce heat to medium and cook salmon 3-4 minutes until the skin is crispy. Cook 1-2 minutes on the flesh side until salmon easily flakes with a fork.
Additional Tips:
- Use a metal spatula like this one Metal Slotted Fish Turner to easily flip the fish.
- Serve with rice and broccoli for a healthy balanced meal
